“Coach Erin”
“It is my passion to bring forward our ancestral wisdom to meet the latest integrative, functional health science to create plans that work and feel good.” - Erin Mackin
Founder, cook and coach, Erin Mackin came to paleo after suffering from mounting subclinical symptoms that were dragging her perceived “healthy” life down: inescapable fatigue, poor mood and concentration, weight gain, digestive distress, anxiety, joint issues, and sugar addiction.
As a foodie and cook, Erin was determined to enjoy a total healing process using food as the medicine it is. Through adopting paleo, then continuing to learn how to “dial it in” for herself and others, the symptoms were eliminated, and her physical ability skyrocketed while turning her grueling workouts into play! Erin started Paleo Effects to guide others through nutritional and lifestyle protocols while removing blocking factors, allowing bodies to be naturally strong and in balance.
Erin recommends individualized nutrition coaching focusing on biologically appropriate food principles to aid her clients in losing fat, gaining energy and muscle (metabolic “currency” for your future), and pursuing longevity. She also specializes in creating nutrient dense, whole-foods eating plans and classes.
Ever learning, Erin has learned Functional Diagnostic Nutrition and is in school under Dr. Dan Kalish of The Kalish Method as well. Both of these practices go deeper to address all aspects of lifestyle to restore optimal function to your body’s systems, discovering underlying causes of disease and supporting your body’s desire to rebalance, heal and strengthen.
Clients of Erin’s take this journey from wherever they are and stride with pleasure toward longevity, physical performance, looking and feeling better. Erin’s philosophy is that food is medicine and eating is a delicious experience, and journey must feel good!
Erin lives and plays in Carlsbad, California with her little primal girl, Stella.
